Located in Northern Africa, by the Mediterranean Sea, Tunisia is an ancient land still bearing the flavor of its French colonial past.
But when it comes to history there’s plenty more to see, from the ruins of Carthage to the well-preserved Roman coliseum in El Jem, from the mosaics of the underground Roman houses in Bulla Regia to the mosques in Kairouan.
Nevertheless, Tunisia has more to offer to the traveler than bits and pieces of history, and it will surprise you with fertile national parks, hot pools in the middle of desert oasis and many holiday resorts with Palace-style hotels well set up for all-inclusive packages.
The white-sand pristine beaches spread along over 1000 kilometers of coastline, the jasmine, roses and orange-trees gardens, the ancient souks and Berber villages in Sahara make Tunisia a great holiday destination for all tastes. |
