Seychelles is constantly hot and humid, with an average annual temperature of 29°C, and the average sea temperature is the same, around 27°C.
The heat is usually tempered by sea breezes. The islands lie outside of the hurricane belt, so storms are rare, but tropical rains fall during January and February. It is easy to escape the showers, though, because it can be sunny on one side of an island while it rains on the other.
When to go
Conditions for swimming, snorkelling and especially diving are superb during April/May and October/November when the water temperature sometimes reaches 29ºC and visibility is often 30 metres plus.
Bird-watching is best in April (breeding season), May - September (nesting of Sooty Terns) October (migration)
Hiking best time is May - September.
Surfing/Windsurfing - May - September.
The busiest and most expensive months are December, January, July and August.
