The climate is Mediteranean along the coast, with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters.
Summer heat on the coast is temperated by breezes and maestral which blows from morning till early afternoon.
The inland has continental climate, with warm summers and cold winters, especially in the mountains where the wind can be sharp in cold periods.
Two winds blow during the croatian winters: sirocco from Sahara, in southeast, a warm, dusty and strong wind and bura that blows from inland to the coast, is dry and powerful.
When to go
Summer season is best, beginning from May to September. Sea water is cold in May, but the sun is strong, not many tourists yet and the prices are down. July and August are in the peak season.
